January 2 2008 - Economic Forecast for Greater Savannah Area is Mixed
The Armstrong Atlantic State University (AASU) Economic Monitor forecast for the 3rd Quarter shows a 2.8% annualized increase in the coincident economic index -- a measure of the regional "heartbeat".

However the leading indicator, which forecasts coming activity declined at an annualized rate of 1.9% -- indicating the local economy is still likely to experience some bumpiness over the next 6 to 9 months.
